Double the fun on a safari beach honeymoon
Most of us see honeymoons as the holiday of a lifetime, a chance to have a blow out and visit somewhere totally amazing. It's the type of holiday you'll probably never be able to afford to take again. With the world being the proverbial oyster choosing one place to visit can be quite difficult. One way around this dilemma is to choose twin centre honeymoons. These are a great way to have two fantastic experiences on the same holiday.
If you fancy a fantastically warm climate, a bit of adventure, some romance, wildlife and the opportunity to chill on the beach then a safari beach holiday could be the answer. South Africa is a gret place to start off on your safari experience. It may be a ten hour flight to get there but it's actually only an hour ahead of the UK, which means you won't be troubled with tiresome jetlag when you get there. The other great benefit of South Africa is that English is widely spoken, which is brilliant for UK travellers and particularly good if it's your first time in Africa.
South Africa is also great for first time safaris as the country is a great place to get sightings of the famous Big Five! The Big Five are the key five animals that most people want to see on safari – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and of course elephants. South Africa is in fact a world leader in animal conservation and takes the protection of their endangered species very seriously indeed
A great place to stay is the Garonga Safari Camp. This exclusive 12 bed camp is situated in the 22,000 hectare Makali Conservancy, just west of the Kruger National Park. Honeymooners can stay in luxury tents on stilts overlooking a dry riverbed. Each one has its own private wooden deck with hammocks that provide guests with spectacular views. Large draped beds are romantic and the rooms are light, airy and spacious. For those wanting to get closer to Mother Nature the camp also sports an outdoor shower.
Guest can unwind, eat and mingle in the camp's luxurious main lodge, which reflects the surrounding bush with its earthy colour schemes and clean lines. The camp has a resident chef who serves up a delicious menu washed down with a fine selection of South African wines.
From the camp you can experience game drives, wilderness walks, outdoor bush baths and aromatherapy and reflexology session at the on camp Sala. Guests are encouraged to indulge in activities that will allow them to get closer to the animals, enhancing their wildlife encounter.
Activities include game drives, wilderness walks, sleep-outs, outdoor bush-baths and aromatherapy and reflexology sessions. We encourage our guests to indulge in activities that will allow them to walk close to the animals, and thereby enhance their wildlife encounter.
Following a few days out in the bush honeymooners can then escape to the beautiful island of Mauritius for some serious relaxation. Famous for its crystal clear waters and fantastic beaches, Mauritius has some amazing hotels and resorts, renowned for their excellent levels of service and superb cuisine and has become incredibly popular with honeymooners and celebrities alike.
A great place to stay is the stunning Residence hotel, which is a favourite with honeymooners due to it's stylish and sumptuous setting. Offering colonial charm and cool contemporary elegance, this is a seriously luxurious hotel.
Honeymooners should definitely think about taking an Ocean Front Suite which boats fantastically breathtaking views of the Indian ocean. The suites have a romantic four poster bed, spacious bathrooms and beach front terraces.
Enjoying the beautiful beach is not the only thing to do at the fantastic resort. The hotel has a 600 m2 spa where honeymooners can enjoy a wide choice of massages, custom made programmes and treatments. If you fancy getting active the resort has an assortment of water sports on offer, including water skiing, wind surfing and snorkelling. You can also go deep seas fishing, go for an undersea walk, go scuba diving or take a catamaran cruise. If you don't fancy getting wet then you can go horse riding or play tennis.
A twin centre break is a great idea for honeymoons, particularly if you can't decide where to go!

Afforable and unusual ideas for a UK honeymoon
Honeymoons don't have to be budget-busting extravagant affairs that leave you wondering how you're going to afford the rest of your married life. There are simple ways to enjoy some time away together that are no less special, equally enjoyable and romantically unique.
For a honeymoon that's quaint and affordable take a look at the beautiful properties on offer at ‘Under the Thatch'. Recognised as the one of the top ethical travel companies in the UK, Under the Thatch buys unique properties and restores them to their former glory. Choose from a selection of fantastic honeymoon ideas including a secluded thatched property, an old railway carriage or a gypsy caravan.
A personal favourite is ‘Wendy, The Aberporth Express', a converted Edwardian railway carriage ideally located on the coastal footpath between the sandy beaches at Aberporth and Tresaith. Secluded and cosy it makes a charming honeymoon retreat, offering breathtaking views of the Welsh coast. From directly outside ‘Wendy' there are great opportunities to spot Europe's largest colonies of bottle-nosed dolphins and seals close to the shore. Take a romantic walk on the heritage coast footpath or cosy up inside the carriage with tea and Welsh cakes. Catch your own dinner of mackerel or sea bass on lines from the rocks in front of the carriage and enjoy with a glass of wine in your romantic hideaway. Honeymooners are undisturbed in this beautifully peaceful location, with no roads for 300 yards and no noise or sound pollution.
Inside the oak-lined cabin is cosy yet simple, with good insulation and panel heaters for those chilly nights. A perfectly functional kitchen is equipped with a cooker, microwave and fridge for you to rustle up a romantic feast. The comfortable lounge features a beautifully ornate 1920s fuel burner, a leather sofa and the modern day essentials of a flat LCD TV and CD player. Keeping with the authenticity of Edwardian travel, there carriage includes a dining compartment with a 1930s Oak dining suite. ‘Wendy' has two bedrooms to choose from, although for your honeymoon you'll more than likely opt for the double with a fitted wardrobe and dressing table and use the double with a small single bed for storage. The bathroom features a quality quadrant shower, heated chrome towel rail and blast fan for warmth when you get out of the shower. Outside there is a veranda with a bench and table to sit and enjoy the views and an enclosed garden with access to the sea. A beautifully unique and secluded retreat, the carriage is testament that honeymoons can be special and romantic without busting the budget!
For a more conventional option, stay at the beautiful Argoed Mill, a stone built Victorian conversion set in a peaceful location in the spectacular Wye Valley. Spend romantic days here next to the waterfall and spot kingfishers, dippers and otters from your balcony. Feast on organic vegetables from the kitchen garden and free range eggs from the resident hens, play pool on your own pool table in the den or relax with a book in front of the wood-burning stove with a book. Argoed is the perfect romantic retreat for relaxing or exploring the local area.
The interior of the mill is simply stunning, homely yet elegant it is a true romantic bolthole in the Welsh countryside. A spacious first-floor open-plan living, kitchen and dining area is comfortable and unashamedly romantic. Two steps lead up to a beautiful bedroom with a cast iron King-sized bed and antique furniture. On the ground floor there is a ‘den' complete with a pool table, comfortable armchairs, a selection of books and a CD player with iPod dock.
